Alton R. Johnson Jr., DPM is currently an American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons Podiatric Medicine and Surgery Clinical Research Fellow at the Penn Presbyterian Medical Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. In 2011, Dr. Johnson received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with a minor in Chemistry from Barry University. During his time as an undergraduate at Barry U., Dr. Johnson completed a summer basic science research internship at the University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine and a clinical epidemiology research internship at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. In the summer of 2011, Dr. Johnson received the Summer Cancer Research Training Award (SCRTA) from the National Institutes of Health to research experimental immunology at the National Cancer Institute at Frederick. Upon completion of his summer research internship, Dr. Johnson fulfilled a year of national service in the Americorps/Community HealthCorps in his hometown of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. In 2012, he attended the Kent State University College of Podiatric Medicine, Doctor of Podiatric Medicine. While at KSUCPM, he was a recipient of the Segal AmeriCorps Education Award, KSUCPM MINT Scholarship, APMA National Scholarship, and North Central Academy of Podiatric Medicine Scholarship. Dr. Johnson also served as the face of KSUCPM serving as a Student Ambassador, Academic Council Student Representative and as the White Coat Ceremony's Gonfalon Carrier. In addition, as a podiatric medical student Dr. Johnson published several research posters focused on geriatric fall secondary to foot deformities. Dr. Aaron Lisberg is a hematologist and medical oncologist who is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at The University of California, Los Angeles. He specializes in the emerging field of immunotherapy, with a specific focus on malignancies of the lung. He is board certified in internal medicine, hematology and medical oncology. In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Lisberg conducts research on immunotherapy, and factors that might predict either a response or toxicity to immune checkpoint inhibition in lung cancer. He also conducts research on the synergistic nature of radiation and immune-based therapies. Dr. Lisberg received his medical degree from the University of Minnesota Medical School, where he was elected to the AOA honor society. He then completed his internal medicine residency at The University of Washington in Seattle, followed by his hematology/oncology fellowship at UCLA.
